Release Notes

Weekly Playtest 4 – May 3

Last update May 2, 2019

Here are some important facts for the playtest:

  1. The test is scheduled to end on May 4, 9 AM CEST / 3 AM EDT. You can check the server status here.
  2. To facilitate this, the chat will be deactivated for the foreseeable future. However, you can still use the comm wheel and we also recommend that you join the official Discord, in case you want to ask for advice or give feedback.
  3. We have recently introduced Spanish and French localization into the game. If you are a native speaker of those languages, we would really appreciate your help to improve the quality by reporting wrong or missing translations via the “Report Bug -> Localization Bug” tab in the game menu.

What to expect?

First of all, we have introduced some changes to how DBNO (Down But Not Out) works

  • DBNO (“Down But Not Out” / Knocked)
    • Players will go into DBNO instead of immediately dying even after having used their first teleport
      • They can still teleport ONLY ONCE per match
      • Note that this is a quick prototype and teleport prompt still appears even if not usable the second time
    • DBNO shield reduced from 1200 to 1000 HP
    • Reduced time to teleport to 0.3s
    • Reduced self-revive time to 20s, 25s in pact from 22/27
    • Reduced initial DBNO invulnerability from 1.5s to 1s
    • Increased teleport money drop from 20c to 50c

Furthermore, there have been some changes regarding the Kits and movement.

Prospectors / Kits

  • Suppressive fire
    • The movement speed lost when shot by other players is now gradually regained
    • You can now become temporarily immune to the movement speed debuff if shot in rapid succession
    • The movement speed lost will be refreshed but diminish in strength as more shots land (diminishing returns of the debuff)
  • Enhanced Reflexes
    • Quicksuit: Sideways dodge cooldown increased from 0.9s to 1.75s
  • HP/Shields
    • Firefly, Quicksuit, and Starter kit HP set to 700
    • Boxer kit HP set to 1000
    • HP regen rate for Firefly, Quicksuit, and Starter set to 20/s
    • Boxer kit HP regen rate set to 30/s
    • HP regen delay for Firefly, Quicksuit, and Boxer set to 12s
    • Starter kit HP regen delay set to 6s
    • Shield regen rate set to 15/s
    • Shield regen delay set to 7.5s

And last but not least, we adjusted the recoil on some of the Korolev weapons.

Weapons

  • KBR Longshot
    • Snappier and less harsh recoil
  • Hammer Revolver
    • Snappier and less harsh recoil

Thank you for all your feedback last week, especially concerning the movement speed debuff on being hit, the dodge on the Quicksuit being too powerful and recoil being wonky at times. We recommend to watch today’s stream where our Game Director Torkel and our Executive Producer Jonathan will talk more about your feedback and future tests! (Starts at 5 PM CEST on twitch.tv/thecyclegame)

Please remember, this is an alpha build, bugs and crashes are to be expected. If you find any issues during your session, please don’t hesitate to report it using the bug reporter tool in-game. Please also keep in mind that queue times, especially late in the night might be longer than expected due to lower player count.

Known issues:

  • Chat has been disabled for the duration of the test. We recommend to join our Discord to join the conversation.
  • Only the mods for the ICA weapons Kinetic Arbiter and Advocate are currently active. Mods for the other weapons will be gradually added over time.
  • Teleport prompt still appears even if not usable if you get into DBNO (“Down But Not Out” / Knocked) after you have already used it once
  • After redeeming the key, the game might appears as “unavailable” on the Epic Games Store. Restarting the Epic Launcher should solve this.
  • When you load into the match lobby for squad mode, it will look like all players are in the same squad. This is just a display issue, and you will be in squads of 4 as intended.
  • Client crashes might occur when crafting weapons, please send the crash report should this happen to you.
  • After finishing a match you will get faction experience towards your progression. Currently, there’s a display issue causing the progression bar for each faction to remain empty. However, you’re still gaining progress, and your current faction level will be displayed correctly.

We hope you have fun during your time on Fortuna III and look forward to reading your feedback!
